Augmented & Virtual reality
What is augmented reality
Augmented Reality (AR) is the technique by which digital information is added to reality. This information is made visible via an app. This technology thus connects reality and the virtual world.
The digital information can consist of, for example, videos, audio, 3D images, images and photos or all kinds of interactive buttons. These elements are shown on the device screen and are therefore visible as a layer 'over' reality.
What is virtual reality
Virtual reality is a computer technique in which a simulated environment is shown. This completely closes off the view of the actual environment.
People often view VR through VR glasses, but it is also possible to view this on a phone. The entire screen is then filled with the simulated environment. The view of this virtual world moves with you when you move your phone.
The difference with AR is that with AR the digital elements are visible 'over' reality.
